WebValley Instructions

Goal of the Game

The goal of the game is to collect all diamonds that are not embedded in earth (those with the black background). If all diamonds in a level have been collected, you can enter the next one.
Different opponents and traps are partially making this task more difficult. The almost omnipresent danger consists of dropping boulders, whose falling down you usually cause yourself. Therefore, the digging of mines beside or under boulders should be thought through well.
Alternatively to the collecting of diamonds these can also be destroyed in another way - but there are no points given for this. For example some monsters eat diamonds and just have to be led in the right direction to do so. Diamonds are also destroyed if they fall into a glowing stream of lava.
In some levels the supplies of diamonds must additionally be blocked. For this the diamond machines have to be destroyed or blocked.

Important Game Objects

Empty Field All monsters and the player can move in empty fields. Boulders, diamonds and bombs can fall into empty fields, sometimes also diagonally across an edge if there is also an empty space beside the object.
Monster eggs can suddenly emerge in empty fields.
Earth Only the player can move through earth if he digs a mine. Other than that earth is only destroyable through detonation. No monster can move through earth.
Edge Stones Edge stones form the outer borders of and immobile walls in the level. Edge stones can only be destroyed through explosions. The outer border of the level is completely undestroyable.
Boulder Falling boulders are a permanent danger. A boulder can fall down if the field under it is empty or if both fields beside the boulder and diagonally under it are empty. In all of these cases the boulder falls down immediately.
Falling boulders can hit and thereby kill the miner, stationary boulders can be held back. In this way it is possible to build a mine under a row of boulders. Boulders can be moved on empty fields by the miner.
Unembedded Diamond These diamonds are the desired objects. Only if there are none left anymore, the next level begins. These diamonds can fall down and also diagonally, like boulders. Falling diamonds aren't dangerous for the miner though. Diamonds can be eaten by specific monsters and burn up above glowing streams of lava.
Embedded Diamond These diamonds have the same characteristics as earth, but additional points can be gained for the collecting of embedded diamonds. To complete a level, it is not necessary to collect embedded diamonds.
Bomb Bombs can be collected in some levels and later used in the game. Bombs are set and activated with the "B" key. After some time the bomb explodes and destroys all objects in the surrounding fields. Bombs set by the player fall down if possible.
Dynamite Dynamite doses can be collected in some levels and later used in the game. Dynamite is set and activated with the space key. After some seconds the dynamite explodes and destroys all objects in the surrounding fields. Dynamite doses cannot fall down and detonate where they've been set.
Monster Egg An egg is harmless as long as the monster hasn't hatched. Eggs can be blown up or buried under boulders to end the danger. After some time a monster hatches from the egg that immediately starts to follow the miner.
Hatching Monster Shortly before the monster hatches, the egg begins to shake. As soon as the monster hatches, the player should seek shelter or lock the monster between boulders.
Monster Monsters try to follow the miner in a direct way - horizontally or vertically. Fortunately the monsters are too dumb to bypass barriers and are, because of this, easily stopped if the direct way is blocked. Because monsters eat diamonds they can be used to remove diamonds at risky spots if they are led there. Monsters are killed by falling boulders, burn up on glowing streams of lava and don't survive explosions. Monsters can move on empty spaces and eat themselves through diamonds.
Fire Wheel Fire wheels have a strange way of rolling, which is why they can move vertically and horizontally. One shouldn't come laterally too near to these because the touch is fatal. Fire wheels are also dangerous for monsters.
Glowing Streams of Lava Lava radiates much heat to the above fields and all objects which are directly located above the lava - except earth - burn up immediately. Even boulders disappear if they fall into lava.
Conveyor Belt The conveyor belt moves all objects which are immediately above it into the direction of flow. The player can - if there's space above - move up to escape the conveying.
